Atlanta Area Council Vision Statement

The vision of the Atlanta Area Council is to promote communication between chapters, to disseminate information, to exchange ideas, to participate in workshops, seminars and other joint activities and to provide opportunities for members to grow personally and professionally through education, networking support and community recognition.

Mission Statement

To bring together businesswomen of diverse  occupations and to provide  opportunities for them to help themselves and others grow personally  and professionally through leadership, education,  networking support  and  national recognition.

Council Goals
Our goals for 2012 are directly aligned with Article II of our National Bylaws. Our council board and committee leaders have committed to achieving at least 20 goals in 2012. We will aim to use 4 key focus areas to support the following goals of the Atlanta Area  Council:

• to enhance and support the mission of the Association and its chapters and Express Networks;
• to support and improve the earning power of all members;
• to advance working women by providing them with opportunities for professional    development and facilitating the exchange of ideas and information among the chapters and Express networks in their areas; and
• to provide enrichment opportunities for area members.

Because councils should serve as a conduit for information between local chapters and express networks, we provide face-to-face connections between members of those chapters and Express Networks. In developing the leadership plan for 2012, the executive board and committee leadership team will use the key focus areas to deliver support to our local chapters and Express Networks.

Key Focus Areas for FY12:

• Inclusiveness and Transparency through Effective Interpersonal, Written and Web/Social Media Communication
• Fiscal Responsibility through Efficiencies that result in Maximum Benefits for Lowest Costs
• Chapter & Express Network Support in programming, in-reach, outreach and Best Practices Task Force
• Operational Excellence by development of Standard Operating Procedures for Council roles and responsibilities
